So this week was interesting. Last week we started a daily miracle chart and it's pretty funny. Monday - great FHE lesson with the Webley family and their friends the Atkinsons on the Plan of Salvation (possible new investigators). Tuesday - great lesson with less active Rachel Rey about the plan of salvation, she is super excited to start coming back to Church. Wednesday - We both lived to make it back at 1 in the morning thanks to Brother McManus. Thursday - Sister Probst only threw up once. Friday - Sister Probst got out of bed for a little bit and actually ate. Saturday - Garrett's baptism! And Sister Probst only slept for half of the day. Sunday - Sister Haws did not have to find another companion for the entire day because Sister Probst only had to sleep for an hour.
It was an exciting week, but I don't really remember much of it. We were actually having a super good week going from lesson to lesson. Wednesday we were meeting with Garrett to get him ready for his baptism interview that night and suddenly my stomach killed. I spent half of the next lesson in the bathroom throwing up. We rescheduled the next lesson and then went to the church where I spent the next two hours in the bathroom and Sister Haws helped Garrett with the interview. Luckily it was mutual so there were plenty of people in the church to be our companions and to give a blessing. I don't think I've ever seen so many men in the girls bathroom before. They basically half carried me to the car (with everyone watching, how embarassing) and then President Palmer said to take me to the hospital. So we spent the next 3 hours in the hospital. We totally broke curfew. They pumped me full of meds and liquid and said either I was food poisoned or had a really bad stomach virus and basically they could do nothing for me so I would need to sleep it off. They also made a nasty discovery that a rash I had on my leg was ringworm! Ew! They said I could have gotten it from anywhere, but probably from cats. Considering how many less than hygenic places we go and how many people have cats and dogs I could have gotten it from anywhere. Ew. And everybody thought I was safe because I wasn't going to a foreign country.
So when we left the hospital we got lost looking for the pharmacy and so our handy-dandy call anytime taxi man Brother McManus told us where to go and then he even showed up. He is a true example of Christlike service. Every time he has helped us he doesn't just give us information he shows up and makes sure that we're helped and our needs are met. Someday I wish to be more like that. Basically I slept for the next two days. Poor Sister Haws went out when she could find someone to go with her, but spent a lot of time cleaning the basement, studying, and going stir-crazy. The good thing about covering 2 wards and a branch is that everybody wants to help. Sister Haws spent a lot of her time answering the phone because everybody in all the wards wanted to help. It was very touching. I had more saltine crackers and chicken noodle soup than I knew what to do with.
Saturday I got up to go to Garrett's baptism. It was awesome! It ran so smoothly and he was so nervous and excited it was great. My first baptism. He's going to be an awesome missionary someday and he's already being an amazing influence on the rest of his family. Unfortunately I can't remember too much about it because I was still pretty out of it and went right back to bed after.
Unfortunately that was about it for my week. I didn't make it to any of the lessons with our other investigators. We have a couple potentials that we taught, but we'll see what happens. I'm feeling much better today and hopefully will be back up to a full day tomorrow. I think what I missed most was being able to read the Book of Mormon every day. There is such a difference when I don't read. I hungered for it and I missed it. Now that I am able to read it again I can't stop. I feel so much better just being able to read the word of God again.
Well I love you all and am so grateful for all your prayers. Keep the faith and read the Book of Mormon every day. It will change your lives I promise.
Love
Sister Probst
